HiFin started in December 2023 and is dedicated to enhancing our clients’ digital banking success by providing top-tier engineering services and digital solutions directly to financial institutions and fintech companies.
Founders and Board Members
HiFin was founded by Brent Dowdy, David Benning and Temy Mancusi-Ungaro. We each have a fanatical passion for client success and we each find ourselves at a time and place to build something unique and rewarding with HiFin. Our experiences and talents are complementary to each other, touching on the full spectrum of a technology company built to service innovative clients.
Brent Dowdy
Founder, Board Chair
Brent has dedicated his professional career to developing financial technology solutions, initially at Santander Consumer USA and later at Alkami Technology, Inc. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Brent graduated from the University of North Texas with a BS in Computer Science and continues to work in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, residing in Denton County with his wife Jeanette Dowdy.
As an enterprise software engineer, Brent has a particular affinity for addressing the unique challenges faced by financial institutions, their digital transformations, and their user’s appetites for innovative digital products. During his time at Alkami Technology, he led the product development of Alkami’s software development kit, distributing the platform to financial institutions and fintech companies. Creating solutions and architectures for banks and credit unions was inspiring and rewarding, leading Brent to establish HiFin Technology to continue delivering excellence directly to the financial institutions.
David Benning
Founder, Board Member
David has over 40 years of experience in the computer software and hardware industry. Often referred to as a technology evangelist, David is passionate about promoting the adoption and innovative application of computer technologies that make a difference in real-world businesses. He has held several positions in engineering, engineering management, and product development over the years.
Throughout most of the life of Alkami Technology, David was responsible for training and assisting Alkami’s clients in the use of the Alkami Software Development Kit (SDK). Prior to joining Alkami in 2015, David worked for other well-known companies in the burgeoning digital banking space and was involved in the development of some of the earliest systems for online check images, online statements, ACH account-to-account transfers, and mobile banking. His leadership and vision have left a lasting impact on the digital banking technology landscape. David resides in the Los Angeles area with his wife, Kelly. They have three adult daughters and a growing quiver of grandchildren. He also loves to work on classic muscle cars, and his passion for aviation has driven him to become a commercial pilot and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).
Temy Mancusi-Ungaro
Founder, Board Member
Temy is an experienced leader who has been scaling B2B SaaS companies for over 20 years, with expertise in customer success and operations, and a strong background in finance, technology, product, and account management. Temy has played a key role in growing several businesses past $1 billion in value, with experience spanning from Series A to public companies.
Temy believes that great people create great customer outcomes and build great companies. As a people-first leader, Temy has a passion for combining people with technology to solve business problems at scale, support hyper-growth, and delight customers. Temy’s skill lies in helping teams (across any region) reach their true potential and converting complex situations into seamless solutions across the customer journey, assisting companies at an inflection point of growth or tackling difficult operational problems.

Lance Turri
Advisor
Lance Turri is an accomplished technologist who seamlessly blends platform engineering, product development, and strategic planning. Known for passionately creating delightful user experiences, he collaborates closely with UX teams to innovate on modern design patterns and defines large-scale architectural decisions. Lance is dedicated to modernizing front-end codebases and enhancing the developer experience while promoting agile practices and championing thorough code testing.
With extensive expertise in JavaScript frameworks, TypeScript, Flutter, and building accessible UIs, Lance has successfully modernized and scaled Alkami Technology and Apptentive (now Alchemer) mobile applications to millions of monthly users. Lance is excited to bring his experience and proven track record of scaling technology solutions directly to HiFin’s clients.
Jason Whiteside
Advisor
Jason has over 25 years of experience and expertise in software and technology operations, product management, and customer success. Throughout his career, he has been a pivotal asset in achieving robust growth and improvement in challenging and diverse situations, navigating organizations with revenue ranging from $5M to $250M.
With his hands-on leadership style, Jason strategically builds and develops teams that address present needs and future demands. His expertise encompasses operational management, enterprise technology leadership, software product management, and business development, underscoring a comprehensive skill set cultivated through dynamic experiences across a variety of industries.
